Logo Drama
June 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment
So I shared with you last week, that I am in the process of having a new logo designed for the House of Papier. Well, let me just say how frustrated I am with the design revisions so far. The initial concept is beautiful but the finishing touches are not coming out the way that I envisioned. I’ve explained in detail what I want to the company representative that is assigned to my project, but it is just not being realized. I think today I need to call and request to speak with the designer that is actually working on my logo. For whatever reasons, they are not able to take my vision and make it come alive. Ironically, that is exactly what I do for my customers. I take the vision of their wedding or event and apply it to design their invitations, which is why I am so frustrated about my logo design. To me, this should all be so simple.

The Final Product

I realize that I forgot to share with you Ade’s final wedding invitations. I actually finished back on May 23rd and Ade mailed them off that following Monday. I love the final product! It makes me want to have a beach wedding too! Here are some pictures I took while I was working on the invitations:
Three days after Ade mailed them to her guests I received a phone call from her maid of honor expressing how much she adored the invitations. Ade also shared that she received so many compliments from her other guests. She has posted a customer testimonial on the “Testimonials” page so make sure you check it out.

Branding your product
June 17, 2008 · 2 Comments
I shared with you that I am in the process of revamping my entire business and one of the most important things to me right now is branding. Branding is important because it makes your product recognizable at first glance. When we see golden arches we know it’s McDonald’s and when we see the interlocking L and V we know the brand is Louis Vuitton. These companies have mastered the art of brand recognition. While their logos are actually quite simple, there is no mistaking the product they represent. Although these two businesses have been around for years and have built their brand recognition over the course of time, I want the House of Papier to grow and be as recognizable as they are. The House of Papier logo is currently being redesigned and I hope to unveil it to you by early next week. My new logo will be the start of having my blog skin redesigned as well as my website and then the launching of my ad campaign. Stay tuned.

Sorry for staying away for so long. In addition to being in and out of town and having a house guest for the last month, I have been working hard to revamp my business. Look out for new posts about my new logo, blog skin, and website and upcoming clients. I’m really excited about it but I don’t want to give away too much just yet. See ya back here soon!
